Journey
Third Generation Mendocino Winemakers
Proprietors, Ben and Jake Fetzer have worked in the wine industry ever since they can remember. Their family first came to California’s Mendocino County in the 1950s to grow wine grapes. In 1994, the brothers began planting a new vineyard called Masút, and their passion for hillside Pinot Noir was born. Years later the brothers created a new appellation called Eagle Peak to help define this little known winegrowing hideout, and built a winery in honor of their late father Robert Fetzer. The name "Masút" honors a former local Native American village, meaning “dark, rich earth”.
“Our mission is to craft exceptional, estate-grown Pinot Noir and Chardonnay wines that showcase the unique terroir of Eagle Peak, Mendocino County AVA. We are dedicated to organic farming practices, meticulous winemaking techniques, and a relentless pursuit of quality. Our goal is to create wines that not only delight the senses but also inspire a deeper connection to our land, the community, and the art of winemaking.” - Jake Fetzer
